I photographed back stage at the FYF Fest in downtown Los Angeles this weekend for Sailor Jerry. In between portrait shoots of various bands at Sailor Jerry’s air stream, I made sure to be front and center for Broken Social Scene’s excellent set. The Toronto Indie collective, formed by lead singer Kevin Drew in 1999, opened with “Cause = Time” from their landmark album “You Forgot it in People” and continued to rock LA for over an hour in true Canadian style. The band is heading to Philadelphia this Friday to open for TV on the Radio at the Mann Music Center. Other acts at the FYF Fest included The Dead Milkmen, Death From Above 1979, Descendents, Guided by Voices, Explosions in The Sky, Cold War Kids & many others.
